Obituary of Bernice Fay Lefholz

Bernice Fay Lefholz Funeral services for Bernice Fay Lefholz of Winfield, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO. Rev. Richard Turnbull of Winfield, will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery in Winfield. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Damon Jaeger, Mike Wilder, Randy Harding, Ron Cardwell, Alan Tayon and Ed Moreland. Mrs. Lefholz, 85, passed away Wednesday morning, April 14, 2010 at her granddaughter's home in Maywood, MO. Born April 7, 1925 in Winfield, MO she was the daughter of Joseph Paul and Nannie Elizabeth Kitson Tayon. She was united in marriage on April 7, 1943 in Salina, KS to Verdie Henry Lefholz. This union was blessed with two children, James Vernon and Vivian Lee. A lifelong resident of the Winfield area, she was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Nannie Tayon; two brothers: Johnnie Ray Tayon and Thomas Martin Tayon; three sisters: Clara Belle Dixon, Elsie Cardwell and Frances McClay; her son, Jimmy Lefholz in 2005; her daughter, Vivian Lindsey in 2009; and her beloved husband of 60 years, Verdie Lefholz, who died January 16, 2004. Survivors include five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Edward Tayon and his wife, Rose, of Winfield; two sisters: Beatrice Wilson (her twin) of Winfield, and Mabel Harding and her husband, Frank, also of Winfield; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
