Obituary of Raymond Joseph Piechoinski

Raymond Joseph Piechoinski Funeral services for Raymond Joseph Piechoinski of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Pete Gounis, chaplain of Community Loving Care Hospice, will officiate with burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Scott Grobenhorst, Brannon Michael Piechoinski, Jesse Theodore Piechoinski, Raymond Piechoinski III, Joe Piechoinski and Mark Piechoinski. Mr. Piechoinski, 62, passed away Thursday evening, April 8, 2010 at his home in Elsberry. Born December 13, 1947 in St. Louis, he was the son of Raymond Joseph and Stella M. Kruszewski Piechoinski. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from June 22, 1970 until being honorably discharged on February 9, 1972. He was united in marriage on August 1, 1974 in St. Louis, MO to Wanda Kay Griffaw. This union was blessed with three children: Jesse, Raymond III and Dawn. He worked for many years as a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Stella Piechoinski. Survivors include his beloved wife of 35 years, Wanda Piechoinski; three sons, Jesse Piechoinski and his fianc�e, Pam Brandt of Winfield, Raymond Piechoinski of Winfield and Michael Piechoinski of Illinois; three daughters, Dawn Drewel of Winfield, Nora Yenigues of St. Louis, MO and Laura Solis of Colorado; and nine grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers: Joseph Piechoinski and his wife, Pam, of Ellisville, MO and Mark Piechoinski and his wife, Michelle of Arnold, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
