Obituary of Elizabeth Jane Wood

Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Wood Funeral services for Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Wood of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Tom Schofield, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Bufford, Delores Bufford, Duke Bufford, John Catalano, Dale Hurley, Winston Bailey, Bob Suddarth, Bob Kindred, Gilbert Riffle, Timmy Baker, Mark Sprock and Jonathan Crabtree. Mrs. Wood, 80, passed away Wednesday evening, March 24, 2010 at her home in Elsberry. Born July 10, 1929 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Clara Seifert Milson. She was united in marriage on August 23, 1958 in Elsberry, MO to John Edward Wood. This union was blessed with a daughter, Sherri Jane Wood. She was an active member of the Elsberry First Christian Church, the Christian Women's Fellowship and the Elsberry Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Clara Milson and her beloved husband of almost 46 years, John Edward Wood, who passed away July 15, 2004. Survivors include her daughter, Sherri Wood of Elsberry; one brother, Larry Milson and his wife, Beverly, of St. Louis, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
