Obituary of Charles Theodore Mehs

Charles Theodore Mehs Graveside services for Charles Theodore Mehs of Winfield, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 at Star Hope Cemetery in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Jon Thompson, pastor of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, will officiate. Mr. Mehs, 77, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 23, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO . Born May 22, 1932 in Foley, MO, he was the son of Theodore and Maxine Sitton Mehs. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army from April 6, 1953 until being honorably discharged on April 5, 1956. He was united in marriage on December 29, 1978 in Old Monroe, MO to Mary Ann Rottger. This union was blessed with one daughter, Jennifer. He worked as a diesel mechanic for many years and as a bus mechanic for Winfield Schools until retiring in 1994. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Maxine Mehs and one brother, Lawrence Mehs. Survivors include his beloved wife of 31 years, Mary Ann Mehs of Winfield; one daughter Jennifer Thompson and her husband, Bryan, of Troy, MO; one step-grandson, Bryce Thompson; several other relatives and friends.
