Obituary of John Clifford Reed

John Clifford Reed Funeral services for John Clifford of Winfield, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at The First Baptist Church in Winfield, MO. Rev. Mike Ryan, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery in Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Shaun Farmer, Brian Farmer, John Reed, Justin Reed, Jordan Reed, James Reed and Joseph Reed. Mr. Reed, 88, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 17, 2010 at his home in Winfield. Born April 22, 1921 in Patton, MO he was the son of John and Rosa Ward Reed. He was united in marriage on January 17, 1942 in Higdon, MO to Virginia Clemma Robbs. This union was blessed with two children: Kevin and Sharon. He worked for many years as a carpenter for Cokley Construction in St. Charles, MO. He was an ordained deacon of Overland Baptist Church and Ridge Road Baptist Church. Most recently, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winfield. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union #47 in St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Rosa Reed; his beloved wife of 63 years, Virginia Reed who passed away February 12, 2005; and two sisters: Virgie Scott and Hazel Vohsen. Survivors include two children: Kevin Reed and his wife, Sandra, of Winfield, and Sharon Caron and her husband, James, of Gladstone, MI; thirteen grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at The First Baptist Church of Winfield.
