Obituary of Jessie Lois Hausgen

Jessie Lois Hausgen Funeral services for Jessie Lois Hausgen of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010 at the Elsberry AR Presbyterian Church. Rev. Conrad Cheatham, church pastor, and her grandson, Pastor Kris Hagemeier, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be David Fakes, Pat Fakes, Tom Fakes, Carrie Fakes, Bennie Fakes, Leon Fakes, Joey Fakes and Chuck Fakes. Mrs. Hausgen, 90, passed away early Friday morning, March 12, 2010 at the Elsberry Health Care Center. Born August 4, 1919 in Hanston, KS, she was the daughter of Ben Chester and Alice Jeanette Meade Fakes. She was united in marriage on September 28, 1940 in Elsberry to Richard Wallace Hausgen. This union was blessed with three children: Donnie, Richard Wayne and Linda. She was self-employed for several years as an Avon salesperson. In her early years, she was employed as a cutter at the Wells Lamont Glove Factory in Elsberry; and worked as a seamstress in the garment industry in Elsberry, Clarksville and Troy over the years. Mrs. Hausgen was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 415, I.O.O.F. in Elsberry. She was a member of the Elsberry AR Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ben and Alice Fakes; her beloved husband of 61 years, Richard Hausgen who passed away December 8, 2001; one son: Richard Wayne Hausgen, who passed away in January 1945; one great-grandson, Jeremiah Lee Hagemeier, who died on October 3, 1996; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Ray Hausgen, on August 26, 1998; two brothers and their wives: Edward Max and Carol Fakes, and Chester and Mildred Fakes; and one sister-in law, Charlene Fakes. Survivors include one son, Donnie Hausgen and his wife, Joyce of Quitman, LA; one daughter, Linda Hagemeier and her husband, Lynn, of Elsberry; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Kenneth Fakes, of Ashland, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
