Obituary of Charles Norman Tolbert

Charles Norman Tolbert, Jr. Memorial services for Charles Norman Tolbert, Jr. of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Michael Kasovich, pastor of St. Paul United Christian Church, will officiate. Mr. Tolbert, 70, died Friday afternoon, March 5, 2010 at his home in Old Monroe, MO. Born December 10, 1939 in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of Charles Norman, Sr. and Margaret Tolbert. He served his country in the United States Army from October 16, 1956 until being honorably discharged on June 28, 1957. He was united in marriage on August 14, 1988 to Karen Celeste Howard. For several years, he was the owner of High Quality Brakes in Overland, MO. He then worked as a mechanic for AGS Repair Service in Winfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles, Sr. and Margaret Tolbert and one sister, Charlene Utterbach. Survivors include his beloved wife of 21 years, Karen Tolbert of Old Monroe; one son, Douglas Howard and his wife, Sherry, of Old Monroe; six daughters: Peggy Von Moll of Phoenix, AZ, Ella Mae Moore and her husband, Jerry, of Phoenix, AZ, Margie Sadler of Winfield, Vicki Ehle and her husband, Don, of Winfield, Denise Killion and her husband, Tony, of Old Monroe and Jackie Tolbert of Old Monroe; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also leaves one brother, Millard Tolbert and his wife, Shawlene, of Florrisant, MO; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
