Obituary of Marjorie Edn Armbruster

Marjorie "Peggy" Armbruster Funeral services for Marjorie Edna "Peggy" Armbruster of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Paul Garven, pastor of Elsberry United Methodist Church, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Bruckerhoff, Chester Koch, Charles Parker, Jerry Ellis, Landon Armbruster and Adam Armbruster. Mrs. Armbruster, 95, passed away Thursday morning, February 25, 2010 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born October 3, 1914 in Hanna City, IL, she was the daughter of Frank and Edith Frank Bowton. She was a 1932 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was united in marriage on December 28, 1939 in Louisiana, MO to Howard Clyde Armbruster. This union was blessed with three children: Michael, Tim, and Maria. She was employed for many years at Forrest Keeling Nursery near Elsberry, retiring in 1982. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Edith Bowton; one brother, Ernie Bowton; one niece, Patty Bowton; and her beloved husband of 60 years, Howard Armbruster who died January 27, 2000. Survivors include one daughter, Maria Laird and her husband, Bob, of Elsberry; two sons: Michael Armbruster and his wife, Dianna of Sparta, TN, and Tim Armbruster of Elsberry; four grandchildren: Stephanie Ellis and her husband, Jerry, of Elsberry, Marcie Parker and her husband, Chad, of Elsberry, Landon Armbruster and his wife, Julie of Tom's River, NJ, and Adam Armbruster and his wife, Lauren of Fort Collins, CO; and three great-grandchildren: Kyle Ellis, Lexie Parker and Kalie Ellis. She also leaves two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Penrod and her husband, Joe, of Louisiana, MO and Erma Ruhmann of St. Charles, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday February 28, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
