Obituary of Phyllis Clara Riddle

Funeral Services for Phyllis Clara Riddle of Camdenton, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Paul Garven, pastor of Elsberry United Methodist Church, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Her family will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Riddle, 78, passed away Monday morning, August 18, 2014 at Lake Regional Health Systems in Osage Beach, MO. Born March 23, 1936 in Seattle, WA, she was the daughter of Fred S. and Evelyn Shay Anderson. She was united in marriage on June 26, 1953 to William Gordon MacLaren II. They were married for 17 years and he is the father of their four children. She was then united in marriage on September 4, 1970 in Belleville, IL to Raymond Olvie Riddle. She was employed for many years at Forrest Keeling Nursery near Elsberry. She worked as a cook at the Elsberry schools and later in the deli at the IGA in Elsberry. Phyllis was a member of the Elsberry United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Evelyn Anderson; one brother, George Anderson; and her beloved husband of 26 years, Raymond Riddle who died May 2, 1997. Survivors include two sons: William G. (Mackie) "Bill" MacLaren, III and his wife, Betsy, of Camdenton, MO, and John MacLaren of Bremerton, WA, two daughters: Shari Hanff and her husband, Tom, of Denver, CO, and Carol Constantino and her husband, Charlie, of Vista, CA; and a step-son, Raymond Dean Riddle and his wife, Julie, of Elsberry; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Bill R. Anderson and his wife, Agnes, of Rainier, WA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor's Choice in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
