Obituary of Sylvester John Brunnert

Sylvester John Brunnert A Mass of Christian Burial for Sylvester John Brunnert of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, church pastor, and Fr. Edward Brunnert of DeQuincy, LA, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Harold Harke, Charles Gnade, Russell Eggering, Martin Mennemeyer, Ed Friese, and Earl Harke. Mr. Brunnert, 85, passed away Monday evening, January 11, 2010 at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab in Troy, MO. Born August 13, 1924 in Old Monroe, he was the son of Anton "Tony" and Loretta Herbert Brunnert. He was a lifelong resident and dairy farmer in the Old Monroe area. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Loretta Brunnert; and three brothers: Steve Brunnert, Bruno Brunnert, and Frank Brunnert. Survivors include two brothers: Arthur Brunnert of Silex, MO and Blase Brunnert, of Old Monroe; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe. Memorials may be made to Masses or Immaculate Conception Building Fund in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
