Obituary of Philip Denton Suddarth

Philip Denton Suddarth Graveside services for Philip Denton Suddarth of Foley, MO, will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Louisiana, MO. J. Larry Carter, of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, will officiate with burial in St Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Louisiana. Mr. Suddarth, 88, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009 at his home in Gold Canyon, AZ. Born June 25, 1921 in Foley, MO, he was the son of Jesse Coleman and Vina Mae Keeton Suddarth. He was a 1939 graduate of Elsberry High School. He was united in marriage on May 21, 1947 in Louisiana to Ruth Jane Edwards. This union was blessed with two sons: Pat and Michael. He retired as a Colonel for the United States Marines and worked for several years for the Federal Aviation Administration, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the American Legion Post #370 in Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Vina Suddarth; and his beloved wife of 47 years, Ruth Jane Suddarth, who died December 25, 1994. Survivors include two sons: Pat Suddarth and his wife, Cheryl, of Gold Canyon, Arizona, and Michael Suddarth of O'Fallon, Missouri; and two grandchildren; Zach and Ruth Ann Suddarth; several other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 2, 2010 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
