Obituary of Helen C. Albert

Helen C. Albert Funeral services for Helen C. Albert of Columbia, MO, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Columbia. Msgr. Michael Flanagan will officiate with entombment in Memorial Cemetery in Columbia. Serving as pallbearers will be Harold Powell, James Powell, Tom Stephens, Kevin Towns, Dick Beers and Marvin Wright. Mrs. Albert died Tuesday morning, November 24, 2009 at her home in Columbia. Born February 27, 1932 in Itwanba County, MS, she was the daughter of Cleveland Augusta and Kara Lee Pearson Powell. She was united in marriage on January 30, 1970 in Birmingham, AL to Donald R. Albert. She was a volunteer for 19 years at the Boone County Hospital in Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland and Kara Powell; one brother, J.W. Powell; and one sister, Merlene Trefinger. Survivors include her beloved husband of 39 years, Don Albert of Columbia; one son, Paul Houston and his wife, Jeanette, of Columbia; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Rebecca Houston. She also leaves three brothers: her twin, Harold Powell of Senath, MO, James Powell and his wife, Nell, of Hornersville, MO, and Maxwell Powell of Cambridge, OH; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 903 Bernadette Drive in Columbia.
