Obituary of William Tony Turner

William Tony Turner A Memorial service for William Tony Turner of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Clarksville, MO will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry, MO. Rev. John Zellmer, church pastor, will officiate with inurnment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Turner, 77, died Wednesday morning, November 4, 2009 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix. Born June 22, 1932 in Clarksville, he was the son of Loyal and Aretta Herrington Turner, Sr. He was united in marriage on November 12, 1962 in France to Odette H. Fournial. He was a retired firefighter for the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyal and Aretta Turner; one brother, Emment Turner; three sisters: Mildred Weir, Mary Elder and Frances Turner; and his beloved wife of 47 years, Odette Turner, who died October 31, 2009. Survivors include one son, Alan Turner and his wife, Louise, of Elsberry; three step-daughters: Martine Slusser and her husband, Ed, of St. Louis, Patricia Barole of CA, and Michelle Collinet of France; ten grandchildren, which includes Mona Turner and Alan Turner, Jr. of Elsberry, and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Loyal Turner, Jr. and his wife, Opal, of Champaign, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the New Hope Baptist Church.
