Obituary of Leonard Clement Schulte

Leonard C. Schulte A Memorial Gathering for Leonard Clement Schulte of Winfield, MO will be held from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield. Mr. Schulte, 75, passed away Thursday morning, November 5, 2009 at his home near Winfield, MO. Born July 9, 1934 in Old Monroe, MO, he was the son of George William and Catherine Caroline Dreisewerd Schulte. He was raised in the Old Monroe community and lived most of his life in southern Lincoln County. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1959. He was united in marriage on February 4, 1961 in Old Monroe to Diane Gladys Graeff. This union was blessed with three children: Kevin, Kenneth and Cindy. He worked for many years as a union commercial plumber for PED (Plumbing Engineering Design) and Murphy, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Plumbers Local #562 in St. Louis. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy, MO. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed duck hunting and fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Catherine Schulte; four brothers: Robert "Bob" Schulte, Daniel Schulte, William "Bill" Schulte and Edward Schulte (who died as a child); and one sister, Rita Gilbert. Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Diane Schulte of Winfield; two sons: Kevin Schulte and his wife, Brenda, and their children Danielle and Zachariah, of Troy, and Kenneth Schulte and his daughter Samantha, of Paris, MO; and one daughter, Cindy Creech and her husband, Clay, and their children, Emily and Hunter, of Keytesville, MO. He also leaves four brothers and their wives: Allen and Brenda Schulte of Old Monroe, James and Carole Schulte of Winfield, Herbert and Lou Schulte of Old Monroe and Eugene and Carol Schulte also of Old Monroe; one sister, Mary Lou Schulte of Old Monroe; two sisters-in-law: Elaine Schulte of Winfield, and Elsie Schulte of Troy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
