Obituary of Paul Henry Freese

Paul Henry Freese Funeral services for Paul Henry Freese of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009 at St. Paul United Church of Christ. Rev. Michael Kasevich will officiate with burial in St. Paul UCC cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Culley Freese, Darryl Freese, Gerald Hackmann, Jerry Gifford, Ernie Justus and Mike Tiesing. Mr. Freese, 87, passed away Monday evening, November 2, 2009 at Villages of St. Peters in St. Peters, MO. Born August 3, 1922 in Old Monroe, MO, he was the son of John Henry and Anna Hoffman Freese. He was united in marriage on April 22, 1950 in St. Charles to Esther Marie Hackmann. This union was blessed with three children: Gloria, Crystal and Carlton. He worked for many years as a truck mechanic for International Harvester, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Machinist UAW union. Mr. Freese was very active with Winco and delivered meals on wheels for over twenty years. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and served several terms on the church council. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Freese; and his brother, Ernest Freese. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Esther Freese of St. Charles; one son Carlton Freese and his wife, Paulette, of Alexandria, VA; two daughters: Gloria Freese, of Kansas City, MO, and Crystal Freese and her husband, Kenton Selsvold, of St. Charles; and three grandchildren: Victoria Nicole Freese of Indianapolis, IN, Brianna Nicole Selsvold of St. Charles, and Paul Culley Freese of Louisville, KY. He also leaves one sister-in-law, Mary Freese of Winfield; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
