Obituary of Edna Lorene Young

Edna Lorene Young Funeral services for Edna Lorene Young of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Richard Turnbull of Winfield will officiate with burial in New Salem Cemetery near Winfield. Mrs. Young, 92, died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Hillside Manor in St. Louis. Born June 12, 1917 in Winfield, she was the daughter of Walter Graham and Florence Grace Cannon McClay. She was united in marriage on January 28, 1939 in Winfield to Kelly Edward Young. This union was blessed with one son, James. She was a member of the Overland Baptist Church She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Florence McClay; two brothers: Charles Henry McClay and an infant brother; and two sisters: Mabel Portwood and Grace Waltz. Survivors include her son, James Young if Flint Hill, MO; one brother, Walter McClay of Troy, MO; and one sister, Lucy Jackson of St. Charles, MO; several other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
