Obituary of Michael Andrew Keating
Michael Andrew Keating, Sr.
Funeral services for Michael Andrew Keating, Sr. of Winfield, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Michael Kasevich, pastor of St. Paul United Church of Christ, and Father Tom Wessler, pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Troy, MO, will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be his nieces: Barbara Prenger, Dawn Rackers, Jamie Kleffner, Jennifer LeClaire, Barbie LeClaire, Jackie Wright, Carrie Brown, Ashley Skabialka, Jessie LeClaire, and Julie Keating. Honorary pallbearers will be Theresa Frederking, Robin Lawson, and Karen Gibbs.
Mr. Keating, 58, died Monday afternoon, August 17, 2009 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born April 23, 1951 in St. Louis, he was the son of Edward Francis Keating and Ruthmary Elizabeth Jost Keating. He graduated from North County Tech in 1969. He was united in marriage on June 6, 1981 in Ferguson, MO to Barbara Sue Kluge. This union was blessed with four children: Tina, Michael, Michelle and Matthew. He owned and operated C & R Construction for several years. He was a member of the Winfield R-IV School Board and the Eastern Lincoln County Development Committee. He also volunteered in his community by playing Santa Claus and hosting the annual Easter egg hunt food drive for 14 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Keating; his mother, Ruthmary LeClaire and his step-father, Robert J. LeClaire, Sr.; and two brothers: Edward F. Keating, and Edward Keating who died as an infant.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 28 years, Barbara Keating of Winfield; two sons: Michael A. Keating, Jr. of Moscow Mills, MO, and Matthew R. Keating of Moscow Mills; two daughters: Tina M. Keeting of Overland, MO, and Michelle I. Keating of Winfield; one grandson, Jacob M. Keating. He also leaves three brothers: William J. Keating of Festus, MO, Robert J. LeClaire, Jr. and his wife, Karon, of Foristell, MO, and Chaim LeClaire, Sr. and his wife, Renee, of Warner Robbins, GA; five sisters: Maryann J. Childers of Festus, Rosemary A. LeCure and her husband, Rick, of Bonnets Mills, MO, Robin LeClaire of Jennings, MO, Renee Traw and her husband, Ray, of Overland, and Kathy Keating of St. Charles, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
