Obituary of Wanda May Powell

Wanda May Powell Funeral services for Wanda May Powell of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2009 at Centennial Methodist Church in Elsberry. Rev. Brenda Cockrell, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Ms. Powell, 55, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters, MO. Born July 26, 1954 in Hannibal, MO, she was the daughter of Vincent Alexander and Mary Rena Irving Powell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Mary Powell; two brothers: Irving Powell and Andy Powell; and one sister, Rose Marie Powell. Survivors include two sons: Ronneil Powell of Elsberry and Rodney Powell of Elsberry; one step-son, Sharawn Griffith of Louisiana, MO; and her companion and special friend, Danny Kinsler of Elsberry. She also leaves two brothers: Jerry Powell and Gary Powell, both of Elsberry; three sisters: Wheeler Ann Powell of Elsberry, Angelene Powell of Columbia, MO, Freda Powell of Moscow Mills, MO; seven grandchildren: Chelsea Powell, Ryan Powell, Brenna Powell, Daezah Powell, Jayln Powell, Ryil Powell and Dallas Powell; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Centennial Methodist Church.
