Obituary of Dennis Michael McCafferty

Dennis Michael McCafferty, Jr. Funeral services for Dennis Michael McCafferty, Jr. of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Gary Green, pastor of Grace Covenant Church in Curryville, MO, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Henry, Jeff Henry, Steven Butler, Jodi McCafferty, Chris Cooper, Travis Bowser, Spec. Daniel Bowser, Alan Moore, Derrick Palmer and Danny Palmer; honorary pallbearers will be Mike Moore, Joe Henry, Jon Sifuentes, Caleb Spies, Joey Phillips and Charlie Henry. Mr. McCafferty, 30, passed away early Sunday morning, August 16, 2009 at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Born June 1, 1979 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Dennis Michael and Debra Ann Palmer McCafferty, Sr. He worked as an irrigation system installer for Precision Irrigation in Chesterfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Palmer; and two cousins, Aricca Palmer and Jared Phillips. Survivors include his mother, Debra Bowser and her husband, Arnold, of Bowling Green, MO; one son, Aidan Michael McCafferty and his child's mother, Melanie Johnson, of Bridgeton, MO; a special friend, Lena Coomer of Elsberry; and his former step-father, Mike Moore, of Troy, MO. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, Jeanett "granny" Palmer of Elsberry; one brother, Jodi McCafferty of Troy; one sister, Tori Moore of Troy; three step-brothers: Spec. Daniel Bowser and his wife, Sara, of Fort Carson, CO, Travis Bowser of Louisiana, MO, and Jared Bowser of Bowling Green; one nephew, Isaiah Soto of Troy; and his step-grandparents, Don and Marlene Liby of Manhattan, KS; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
