Obituary of Christina Felty Raney Rice

Funeral services for Christina Felty Raney Rice of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Father Raymond Hager, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Cooper, Brandon Ellis, Ken Rice, Shane Dunlap, Arlyn Mackey, and Jake Mackey. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Raney, David Rice, Adam Mackey, and Ross Howard. Mrs. Rice, 52, died early Thursday morning, August 6, 2009 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO. Born July 31, 1957 in Evansville, IN, she was the daughter of Herbert Anthony and Judith Ann Robbins Felty. She was united in marriage on December 18 1993 in Elsberry to Dennis Rice. She worked for 24 years for the Lincoln County Nursing Service. She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Felty; and one son, Shawn Raney. Survivors include her beloved husband of 15 years, Dennis Rice of Elsberry; two sons: David Rice and his wife, Kristy, of Winfield, MO, and Brian Raney and his companion, Kyley, of Elsberry; three daughters: Samantha Mackey and her husband, Adam, of Troy, MO, Lindsey Raney of Troy, and Kimber Howard and her husband, Ross, of Herington, KS. She also leaves her mother, Judy Felty of Elsberry; one sister, Denise Lynn Wahl of Feldon, IL; several other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
