Obituary of Robert Raymond Donnelly

Robert "Bob" Donnelly, Jr. Funeral services for Robert Raymond "Bob" Donnelly, Jr. of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. David Rubemeyer, pastor of the Elsberry First Baptist Church, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Donnelly, Joe Harris, Matt Harden, Duane Gitteimier, Brian Upton and Rob Mills; honorary pallbearers will be Matt Lorenz, Jake Donnelly, Jordan Donnelly, Brad Harris and Chris Schaeffer. Mr. Donnelly, 42, passed away Friday afternoon, July 31, 2009 surrounded by his family at his home near Elsberry. Born October 25, 1966 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Robert Raymond and Barbara Bryon Donnelly. He was a 1985 graduate of McCluer High School in St. Louis. He was united in marriage on November 14, 1992 in St. Louis to Tonya Elaine Wagner. Their home was blessed with two sons, Jake and Jordan. He was employed for several years as a concrete truck driver for Schreiter Redi-Mix in O'Fallon, MO, leaving for health reasons in September, 2008. Active in the community, he was formerly a member of the Elsberry Volunteer Fire Department, and has recently worked on the Page Branch Park Committee in Elsberry. He was a member of the Elsberry First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Donnelly. Survivors include his beloved wife of 16 years, Tonya Donnelly of Elsberry; and two sons: Jake Donnelly and Jordan Donnelly, both of Elsberry. He also leaves his mother, Barbara Donnelly of Dellwood, MO; one brother, Michael Donnelly of Florissant; one sister, Colleen Schaeffer and her husband, Chris, of O'Fallon; his parents-in-law, Jerry and Judy Wagner of Elsberry; his sister-in-law, Angie Harris and her husband, Joe, of Elsberry; nieces and nephews: Christopher and Carissa Schaeffer, and Bradley and Natalie Harris; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
