Obituary of John Curt Wells

John Curt Wells Funeral Services for John Curt Wells of Lake St. Louis, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Paul Garven, pastor of Elsberry United Methodist Church, will officiate with inurnment in Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Mr. Wells, 65, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 at St. Joseph's Health Center in St. Charles, MO. Born August 3, 1943 in Elsberry, MO he was the son of Benjamin Downing and Julia Elizabeth Reed Wells. He was a 1961 graduate of Elsberry High school and later completed two years at Ball State University in Muncie, IN. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for eight years as a car dealer for Sherwood Ford and later purchased the company which he owned for ten years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Julia Wells. Survivors include two sons: Jason Michael Jones and his wife, Autumn, of Newport Beach, CA, and Sean Curt Wells and his companion, Anna Waeltermann, of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren: Jaden Curt Wells, and Layne Mary Elizabeth Wells; and several other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
