Obituary of Grace Jeanette Davis

Jeanette Davis Funeral services for Grace Jeanette Davis of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. Rev. John Zellmer, church pastor, will officiate with burial in New Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Summers, Jeff Wells, Timmy Baker, Dustin Hollingsworth, Mike Reed and Richard Davis; honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Potts, Louis Reed, John W. Davis and Paul LaBanca. Mrs. Davis, 71, passed away Saturday morning, July 18, 2009 at her home near Elsberry. Born July 22, 1937 near Brussels in rural Lincoln County, MO, she was the daughter of Rupert and Mattie Lucille Branham Summers. She was united in marriage on April 15, 1976 in Poteau, OK to Graydon DeeMorry "Dee" or "Pigtail" Davis. She was employed for several years as a line worker at the Mobil Chemical plastics factory, retiring in 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rupert and Mattie Summers; one brother, Harold Summers; and one sister, Mae LaBanca. Survivors include her beloved husband of 33 years, Graydon DeeMorry "Dee" Davis of Elsberry; two sons: Ronald James "Jim" Baker, Jr. and his wife, Georgia, of Elsberry, Sidney Lavaugh "Sid" Baker, and his wife, Lydia, of Elsberry; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, John "Buster" Summers and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Bowling Green, MO; three sisters: Edna Reed of Elsberry, Dorothy Wells and her husband, Kenny, of Troy, MO, and Marie Blake and her companion, John Reed, of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
