Obituary of Kenneth Scott Briggs

Kenneth Scott Briggs Funeral services for Kenneth Scott Briggs of Winfield, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Old Monroe, MO. Rev. Michael Kasevich, church pastor, will officiate with burial in St. Paul UCC Cemetery in Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Doyle Gooding, Bill Cusick, Tim Vaghy, Dr. W.M. Lewis, Jack Kohn and Thomas Keever. Mr. Briggs, 42, died Sunday, May 31, 2009 in O'Fallon, MO. Born September 23, 1966 in Fort Worth, TX, he was the son of Jerry Edward and Lani Fay Morgan Briggs. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1985. He served his country in the Marine Corp from April 4, 1987 until being honorary discharged on November 1, 1988. He had previously been a purchasing agent for Kohner Properties. He worked for several years as a residential contractor. Mr. Briggs attended St. Paul United Church of Christ in Old Monroe. He was preceded in death by one nephew, Jonathan Michael Briggs. Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Lani Briggs of Winfield; and one daughter, Elizabeth Fay Briggs of House Springs, MO. He also leaves three brothers: Larry Briggs and his fianc�e, Susan Arnold, of House Springs, James Briggs of St. Peters, MO, and John Briggs and his wife, Emily, of Warrenton, MO; his step-grandmother, Shirley Emerson of Greenville, TX; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held was held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
