Obituary of Adele Marie Anthony

Adele Marie Anthony A Mass of Christian Burial for Adele Marie Anthony of Old Monroe, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Howard Burkemper, Matthew Burkemper, David Heitman, Danny Heitman, Dennis Heitman, Dwayne Harrison, Jeffery Harrison, Tony Travers, Adam Travers, Alan Travers, Richard Anthony, Jr., and Neil Emily. Mrs. Anthony, 99, died early Wednesday morning, May 27, 2009 at Troy Manor in Troy, MO. Born February 26, 1910 in Ethlyn, MO, she was the daughter of Herman and Rose Freise Gnade. She was united in marriage on October 26, 1932 in Old Monroe to Diederich Aloysius Anthony. This union was blessed with eight children: John, Mary, Rose Ann, Paul, Doris, Jane, Teresa, and Rich. She was a lifelong and faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was also involved in the Quilting and Altar Society at Immaculate Conception. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Rose Gnade; three brothers: Frank, Richard, and John Gnade; one son, Paul Anthony; three daughters: Jane Anthony, Teresa Travers, and Doris Harrison; and her beloved husband of 38 years, Diederich Anthony who died January 6, 1971. Survivors include two sons: John Anthony of Old Monroe, and Rich Anthony and his wife, Lavada, of Winfield; two daughters: Mary Burkemper and her husband, Vernon, of Old Monroe, and Rose Ann Heitman of Moscow Mills; 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 10 great, great-grandchildren. She also leaves five brothers: Eugene Gnade and his wife, Laura, of Calmer, IA, Jim Gnade of Old Monroe, Charles Gnade and his wife, Dorothy of Old Monroe, William Gnade and his wife, Delores, of Moscow Mills, MO, and Bernard Gnade and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Moscow Mills; four sisters: Ann Hank of Montgomery City, MO, Leona Schneider of St. Peters, MO, Rosemary Roettger and her husband, Everett, of Troy, MO, and Jane Pieper and her husband, Leonard, of Troy; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
