Obituary of Muril Thomas McKinney

Muril Thomas "Mac" McKinney A Graveside Service for Muril Thomas "Mac" McKinney of Winfield, MO will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, May 15, 2009 at Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry, MO. J. Larry Carter, of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Rackley, Kody Rackley, Donald Dillard, Richard Dillard, Nick Dillard, and Mark Peine. Mr. McKinney, 87, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab Center in Troy, MO. Born August 31, 1921 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of William Charles and Madeline Stovall McKinney. A Veteran of World War II, he served his country from July 9, 1942 until being honorably discharged on April 20, 1946. He was united in marriage on December 20, 1941 in St. Louis, MO to Beatrice Elizabeth Stamper. Beatrice preceded him in death and he was united in marriage again on January 10, 1981 in Troy, MO to Eleanor Ann Krachey. He worked for several years as a truck driver for Glass Moving Company in St. Louis, retiring in 1978. He also drove a bus for the Winfield School District. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #610. He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Madeline McKinney; one daughter, Marilyn Pyle; one stepson, Donald Kimberly; and one grandson, David Pyle. Survivors include his beloved wife of 28 years, Eleanor McKinney, of Winfield; one son, Donald McKinney and his wife, Marleene, of St. Charles, MO; one daughter, Judith Hemberger of St. Charles; three step-daughters: Sharon Peine and her husband, Albert, of Troy, Lois Altman of Winfield, and Kathy Kimberly of St. Peters; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, James McKinney and his wife, Cookie, of TN; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
