Elvira Emilie Louise Dickbernd Funeral services for Elvira Emilie Louise Dickbernd of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Old Monroe, MO. Rev. Michael Kasevich, church pastor, will officiate with burial in St. Paul UCC Cemetery in Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Green, Dave Kendrick, Jeff King, Gary Tiller, James Dickbernd, and Michael Dickbernd. Mrs. Dickbernd, 93, died late Monday evening, May 11, 2009 at her home near Old Monroe. Born March 9, 1916 in Hookdale, IL, she was the daughter of Rev. William and Emilie Matilda Ortlepp Jung. She was a 1934 graduate of St. Charles High School. She was united in marriage on September 14, 1940 in Old Monroe to William David Dickbernd. This union was blessed with two children: Ruth and David. She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Old Monroe where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and played the organ for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. William and Emilie Jung; one brother, Elroy Young; and her beloved husband of 48 years, William Dickbernd. Survivors include one son, David Dickbernd of Omaha, NE one daughter, Ruth Green and her husband, William, of St. Charles, MO; six grandchildren: Dawn King and her husband, Jeff, of St. Charles, MO, Paul Green and his wife, Vicki, of Lombard, IL, Robin Kendrick and her husband, Dave, of St. Charles, James Dickbernd and his wife, Debra, of Ankeny, IA, Mike Dickbernd of Columbus, IN, and RaNae Lockhart and her husband, Bill, of Omaha, NE; and seven great-grandchildren: Ryan and Benny King, Alex Kendrick, Nathan and Breana Dickbernd, and Zachary and Sam Lockhart; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
