Obituary of Eunice Gertude Riffle

Eunice Gertrude Riffle Funeral services for Eunice Gertrude Riffle of Bowling Green, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of Whiteside Holiness Church, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Smith, Shawn Smith, Clinton Smith, Jimmy Bufford, Cliff Bowen, Dana Foiles; honorary pallbearers will be Jason Rhodes, Danny Rhodes, Vance Smith, Christopher Riffle, and Aaron Bowen. Mrs. Riffle, 90, died Thursday evening, March 26, 2009 at Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green, MO. Born November 20, 1918 in Elsberry, MO, she was the daughter of James Quincy and Clara Dee Etta Palmer Suddarth. She was united in marriage on November 20, 1940 in Elsberry to Ray Donive William Bufford. She was later married to Homer Arnold Riffle on February 21, 1946 in Elsberry. Mrs. Riffle was a member of the Olney Baptist Church in Olney, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Clara Suddarth; two brothers: John Suddarth and Norman "Buck" Suddarth; one sister, Hazel Lawson; and one son Raymond Laverne Davis, who died as an infant. Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years, Homer Riffle of Bowling Green; three sons: James Clifton Bufford and his wife, Debbie, of Curryville MO, Homer Arnold Riffle, Jr. and his wife, Dona, of Bowling Green, and Samuel Dale Riffle of Bowling Green; four daughters: Barbara Jo Ann Bowen and her husband, LeRoy, of Frankford, MO, Doris Linda Smith and her husband, Raymond, of Bowling Green, Bonnie Faye Wallace and her husband, Robert "Bob", of Frankford, MO, and Marilyn "Kay" Crenshaw and her husband, Kenny, of Bowling Green; 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 10 great, great-grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Edell Vaughn of Elsberry; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green, MO.
