Obituary of Harry Edward Stonebraker

Funeral services for Harry Edward Stonebraker of Winfield, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Rick Koonce, pastor of Mid America Baptist Church, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Bud Strunk, Ricky Shirk, Jerry Sharpe, Alan Stonebraker, Pat Stonebraker, and Alan Tayon. Mr. Stonebraker, 69, died Wednesday evening, March 11, 2009 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born August 10, 1939 in Foley, MO, he was the son of George W. and Lucille Briscoe Stonebraker. He was united in marriage on July 25, 1958 in Winfield to Ruby Ann Robertson. This union was blessed with three children: Stephen Dale, Stacey Lynn, and Gina Ann. He worked for several years as a construction superintendent for H.B.E in St. Louis, MO, retiring in 1995. Mr. Stonebraker has served as Mayor of the City of Winfield for the past six years. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucille Stonebraker, and one son, Stephen Dale Stonebraker, who died September 12, 1977. Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Ruby Stonebraker of Winfield; two daughters: Stacey Diederich and her husband, Scott, of Old Monroe, MO, and Gina Wehde and her husband, Leroy, of Winfield; four grandchildren: Colby Wehde and his wife, Ashley, of Winfield, Sam Wehde and his fianc�e, Ann, of Winfield, and Maggie and Dale Diederich of Old Monroe; and two great-grandchildren: Chloe and Jed Wehde of Winfield. He also leaves one brother, Perry Stonebraker and his wife, Peggy, of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
