Obituary of Beulah May Ashwill

Beulah May Ashwill, 96, passed away late Tuesday evening, December 9, 2008 at the Elsberry Health Care Center in Elsberry, MO. Interment will be in Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto, Florida. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Born March 28, 1912 in Hartford City, IN, she was the daughter of Frank and Inez May Proctor Grahm. She was united in marriage on October 23, 1936 in Bowling Green, OH to Gerald Elliott Ashwill. This union was blessed with two children: Gerald and Patricia. In 1934 she received her Bachelor of Science of Education from Ball State Teachers College. She taught Home Economics for over thirty years in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. She retired on June 14, 1965 from the Louisville, Kentucky school system. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Finley, Ohio and the Kentucky Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Inez Grahm; three brothers: John Grahm, Earl Grahm, and Charles Grahm; and her beloved husband of 60 years, Gerald Ashwill, who died September 23, 1996. Survivors include one son, Gerald Ashwill, Jr. and his wife, Mary Bernice, of Winfield, MO, one daughter Patricia Greenwood and her husband, Jack, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada; 3 grandchildren: Jane Ashwill of Foley, MO; Jamie Greenwood, of London, Ontario, Canada; and Stacey Greenwood, of Alberta, Canada; one great grandchild, Megean Hubbard of Foley, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
