Obituary of Harold J. Ruff

A Memorial Mass for Harold Joseph Ruff of Winfield, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, church pastor, will officiate with inurnment in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Mr. Ruff, 76, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at his home in Winfield. Born April 12, 1932 in Warrenton, MO, he was the son of Walter and Martha Iffrig Ruff. Mr. Ruff served his country in the U.S. Army from October 30, 1952 until being honorably discharged on August 21, 1954. He was united in marriage on March 14, 1953 in O'Fallon, MO to Alice Claire Pieper. This union was blessed with two children: Danny and Kathy. Mr. Ruff worked for several years as a supervisor at MEMC, retiring in 1994. He also worked as a propane service technician at St. Peter's Co-Op Elevator. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe. Mr. Ruff was also a member of the Old Monroe Knights of Columbus, the Winfield V.F.W and the Old Monroe American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Martha Ruff; one brother, Ray Ruff; and one sister, Marilee Bethmann. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Alice Ruff of Winfield; one son, Danny Ruff and his wife, Janine, of St. Charles, MO; one daughter, Kathy Wilkerson and her husband, Mark, of Winfield; four grandchildren: Danielle Coleman and her husband, Ryan, of Hawk Point, MO, Alex Ruff of St. Charles, Dean Wilkerson of Winfield, and Alyssa Wilkerson of Winfield; one great-grandson, Drake Coleman; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
