Obituary of Herschel Bruner

Funeral services for Herschel Elmer Bruner of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. Rev. John Zellmer, church pastor, will officiate with burial in New Hope Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Brewer, Sr., Don Brewer, Jr., Rodney Motley, Dale Hurley, Dennis Hammack, and John Norvel. Bernard Brewer will serve as honorary pallbearer. Mr. Bruner, 77, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008 at his home near Elsberry. Born February 19, 1931 in Doniphan, MO, he was the son of Walter and Maud Griffen Bruner. He was a 1952 gradate of Doniphan High School. He was united in marriage on September 24, 1964 in Lincoln County, MO to Rosemary Ruth Schaffer. He worked for several years as an inspector for Moog Automotive, retiring in April of 1991. Mr. Bruner was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. A 55 year Mason, he was currently a member of the Bridgeton Lodge #80. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Maud Bruner. Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Rosemary Bruner of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
