Obituary of Kenneth Edward Lilley

Visitation for Kenneth Edward "Pete" Lilley of Elsberry, MO was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Mr. Lilley, 82, died early Friday morning, November 14, 2008 at his home in Elsberry, Missouri. Born October 9, 1926 in Lincoln County, Missouri, he was the son of Isaac Shannon and Elsa May Garner. He was a 1944 graduate of Elsberry High School. He was united in marriage on August 6, 1975 in Elsberry to Ruby Mae Bote. Mr. Lilley worked for several years as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Elsa Lilley; four brothers: Joseph Lilley, Richard "Shorty" Lilley, Charles "Doc" Lilley, Arthur Burton Lilley; and two sisters: Virginia Ralston and Sarah Buchanon. Survivors include his beloved wife of 33 years, Ruby Lilley of Elsberry; two sons: Richard Lilley and his wife, Christine, of Quitman, TX, and Burton Lilley and his wife, Heather, of Kilgore, TX; one daughter, Mary Workman and her husband, Billy, of Mineola, TX; two stepsons: George Dobsch of Mineola, and Todd Dobsch of Dexter, IA; two stepdaughters: Diana Moore and her husband, Randy, of Hawkins, TX, and Nancy Parker and her husband, Joe, of Winnsboro, TX; nineteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
