Obituary of Rebecca Lynn Stone

Funeral services for Rebecca Lynn "Becky" Stone of Elsberry, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Nov 3, 2008 at the Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. Rev. Raymond Doussard, chaplain for TIP Hospice, and Rev. Allen Calkins, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Ray Stone, Shane Taylor Stone, Richard Bartley Stone, Chad Aaron Stone, Brian Hunter Stone and Joshua David Hausgen. Mrs. Stone, 86, died early Saturday morning, November 1, 2008 at her home in Elsberry. Born February 28, 1922 in Annada, MO, she was the daughter of Homer Milton and Nellie Louisa Gray Reed. She was united in marriage on February 1, 1941 in Bowling Green, MO to Guy Hunter Stone. This union was blessed with four children: Donald Ray, Robert Lynn, James Richard and Rebecca Lee. She was a life-long member of the Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Nellie Reed; two brothers: Charlie Reed and Homer Louis Reed; two sisters: Jeannie Knox and Nellie June Norton; one son, Jimmy Stone who died May 3, 1984; and her beloved husband of 36 years, Guy Stone who died October 30, 1977. Survivors include two sons: Donnie Stone and his wife, Lynn, of Ballwin, MO, and Robert "Bob" Stone and his wife, Joyce, of Elsberry; one daughter, Rebecca Bonney and her husband, Bob, of Elsberry; nine grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers: Johnnie Reed and his companion, Marie Blake, of Foley, MO, and Robert Reed and his companion, Loretta Portwood, of Troy, MO; three sisters: Mary Catherine "Cattie" Graves and her husband, Arlon, of Foley, Rosie Adams, and her husband, Alvin Jr., of Eolia, MO, and JoAnn Ray and her husband, Jerry, of Louisiana, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
