Obituary of Monica Anne Moellering

Funeral services for Monica Anne (Niki) Moellering of Foley, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Father Charles Tichacek, pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Elsberry, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Jared Pratt, Jared Swantner, Jack Miller, Jim Yerke, Charles Bouska and Tom Schriewer. Mrs. Moellering, 56, passed away Friday morning, June 20, 2014 at her home near Foley. Born July 21, 1957 in Florissant, MO, she was the daughter of George and Rita Hesse Boothby. She was a 1975 graduate of Hazelwood West High School and earned an Associates Degree in 1978 from Florissant Valley Junior College. She was united in marriage on April 19, 1980 in Florissant to David John Moellering. This union was blessed with three children: Emily, Andrea and Brian. Niki was a Registered Nurse and started her nursing career at Normandy Hospital in St. Louis. She was most recently employed as a Med/Surg. Nurse and In-House Manager at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. Niki and her family were active in 4-H for many years. She was a 4-H State Champion in Barrel Racing as a teenager. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rita Boothby; her father-in-law, Robert Moellering; her brother, Michael Boothby; and her mother-in-law, Rita Meyer. Survivors include her beloved husband of 34 years, Dave Moellering of Foley; her children: Emily Pratt and her husband, Jared of Wentzville, MO, Andrea Swantner and her husband, Jared, of Lake Saint Louis, MO, and Brian Moellering of Elsberry, MO; and two grandchildren: Sophia and David Pratt of Wentzville. She also leaves three sisters and their spouses: Karen and Jack Miller of Foley, Kathi and Kevin McMahill of Clarksville, MO, and Mindy and Chris Henson of Wentzville; several nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
