Obituary of Richard Paul Dreisewerd

A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard Paul Dreisewerd of Old Monroe, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Hulsey, Jr., Neil Emily, Richard Anthony, Jr., Marty Bruckerhoff, Mark Bruckerhoff, Joe Daffron, and Mike Altman. Mr. Dreisewerd, 57, died Saturday evening, September 20, 2008 at his home in Old Monroe. Born September 21, 1950 in Old Monroe, he was the son of Paul Richard and Anna Marie Bach Dreisewerd. He was a 1969 graduate of Winfield High School. A veteran of the Vietnam War he served his country in the United States Air Force from July 7, 1969 until being honorably discharged on November 20, 1973. He was united in marriage on September 27, 1980 in Old Monroe to Terry Lee Gilbert. This union was blessed with two sons: Paul and Lucas. Mr. Dreisewerd worked for several years as a maintenance mechanic for Alpha Plastics. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Anna Dreisewerd. Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 28 years, Terry Dreisewerd of Old Monroe; his two sons: Paul Dreisewerd and his wife, Elizabeth, of Troy, and Lucas Dreisewerd and his wife, Krystal, of O'Fallon, MO; and three grandchildren: Callin Nathaniel, Paul Jacob, and Joie Lynn. He also leaves one brother, Russell Dreisewerd and his wife, Janice, of Browning, MO; one sister, Audrey Bruckerhoff and her husband, Ed, of Hermann, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
