Obituary of Eddie Lee Gilbert

A Mass of Christian Burial for Eddie Lee Gilbert of Old Monroe, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Burkemper, Dan Park, Randy Noah, Mike Haas, Travis Pruitt, Stephen Gilbert, Rick Whisett and Cody Cox Mr. Gilbert, 52, died Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2008 at his home in Old Monroe. Born February 16, 1956 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Harold Clifton and Persia Lucille Saulsberry Gilbert. He was a 1975 graduate of Elsberry High School. He was united in marriage on October 25, 1986 in Old Monroe to Kathryn Ann Parr. This union was blessed with one daughter, Amber. He was employed for many years for Centurion Stone. Mr. Gilbert was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Gilbert; his father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Eleanor Parr; and his brother-in-law, Ralph Benedict. Survivors include his beloved wife of 21 years, Kathy Gilbert of Old Monroe; one daughter, Amber Gilbert of the home. He also leaves his mother, Persia "Polly" Gilbert of Elsberry; one brother, Robert Gilbert and his wife, Maria, of Elsberry; two sisters: Charlotte Cox and her husband, David, of Nixa, MO, and Margaret "Missy" Pruitt of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
