Obituary of Delia Florence Lavy

Funeral services for Delia Florence Lavy of Winfield, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Marvin Braungardt of St. Charles, MO and Lewis Hunt of Winfield, MO will officiate with burial in Asbury Cemetery near Foley, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Turnbull, Roger Moran, Dustin Dildine, David Gibson and Ronnie Gibson and Randy Cook. Mrs. Lavy, 100, died Monday afternoon, August 11, 2008 at the Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab Center in Troy, MO. Born November 10, 1907 in Lincoln County, MO, she was the daughter of James V. and Addie Smith Riffle. She was united in marriage on December 18, 1929 in Troy, MO to William Anderson Lavy. This union was blessed with three daughters: Helen Francis, Roice Fern and Emma Marie. Mrs. Lavy was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by per parents, James and Addie Riffle; one daughter, Helen Gibson; one granddaughter, Angie Nordman; one son-in-law, William "Bud" Moran; and her beloved husband of 48 years, William Lavy, who passed away December 5, 1978. Survivors include two daughters: Marie Moran of St. Charles, MO, and Roice Turnbull and her husband, Arlie, of Winfield; one son-in-law, Walter Gibson of Sweet Water, TN; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
