Obituary of Mary Belle Wilson

Mary Belle Wilson Funeral services for Mary Belle Wilson of Elsberry, MO were held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Richard Pillers, pastor of the Elsberry Assembly of God Church, officiated with inurnment in Elsberry City Cemetery. Ms. Wilson, 76, died Thursday evening, July 31, 2008 at her home in Elsberry. Born February 26, 1932 in Portageville, MO, she was the daughter of Edgar Shirell and Nellie Thomas Jimerson. She was united in marriage in May, 1946 in Portageville to James W. Hailey. This union was blessed with five children: James W. III, Rodney J., Linda Catherine, David Glenn and Debra. She was marriage again in 1963 in Portageville to Joe Dell Wilson. A son, Kingston Howard was born to this union. Ms. Wilson owned and operated Haps Lounge in New Madrid, MO for many years, retiring in 1996. She moved to the Elsberry area in 1999 to be near her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Nellie Jimerson; four brothers; three sisters; a son who died in infancy, David Hailey; and one daughter, Cathy Wilson, who died in 2004. Survivors include three sons: James W. "Jack" Hailey, III of New Madrid, MO, Rodney J. Hailey of Pelham, GA, and Kingston H. Wilson and his wife, Donna, of Elsberry; one daughter, Debra "Debbie" Johnson and her husband, William Fox, of Kimmswick, MO; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held from 2:00 until time of the service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
