Mary Ricks Roberts posted a condolence

I am the daughter of Glenn Ricks, Mildred's double first cousin. We live in Virginia and I can remember visiting "Aunt" Mildred several times when I was young and she lived in Northern Virginia. My mother, Helen Ricks and my sisters, Barbara and Theresa and I visited several years ago and went to see her at the Nursing Home, she was a joy to talk to and remembered our many visits, especially when she was at Ft Lee for classes and would come to our home for visits.
My brother and I stopped in Winfield many years ago to visit our Grandmother, Alma Ricks and Mildred, I remember Mildred was busy with the community and at the time showed us how to find an unmarked gravesite in the grave yard, something we all found facinating.
I am sorry for your loss and hope you have many wonderful memories of Mildred, she was such a facinating person and you are lucky to have had her in your life for such a long time.

I worked side by side with Mildred at Carter-Ricks in the early nineties, and I can tell you that I have never met a more dedicated individual. Winfield was her town and she was proud of her community. She will be greatly missed.
