Obituary of Robert Thomas Palmer

Funeral services for Robert Thomas "Bob" Palmer of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. David Rispoli, Chaplain of AmHeart Hospice, will officiate with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Duke Bufford, Kevin Hailey, Les Lonsberry, Mike Talbot, Mike Hartley and Steve Gray. Bob, 56, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at his home in Elsberry. Born July 18, 1951 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of William H. "Jack" and Henrietta "Hank" Richardson Palmer. He was a 1969 graduate of Elsberry High School. He was united in marriage on April 4, 1969 in Elsberry to Debra Colleen "Debbie" Moyer. This union was blessed with three children: Lezlie Colleen, Jennifer Renee and Amy Nicole. Mr. Palmer worked for several years as a truck drive for General Mills, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the New Hope Lodge #199 AFAM in Elsberry, the Sons of American Legion in Elsberry, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Silex Chapter #80. Mr. Palmer was also a member of the Elsberry First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Henrietta Palmer and one daughter, Lezlie Colleen Palmer, who died February 29, 2008. Survivors include his beloved wife of 39 years, Debbie Palmer of Elsberry, two daughters: Jennifer Rodriguez and her husband, Alberto, of Eolia, MO and Amy Palmer of Elsberry; and four grandchildren: Sierra Rodriguez, Arianna Rodriguez, Stephanie Kuntz and Matthew Kuntz. He also leaves one half brother, Larry Palmer of Indiana; several other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the J.R.
