Obituary of Mary Mae Hatcher

Funeral Services for Mary Mae Hatcher of Wentzville, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. Rev. Allen Calkins, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Ray Ellis, Jeff Martin, Jerry Evans, Kevin Croghan, David Beauchamp, Adam Beauchamp, Kyle Ellis and Bryan McDaniel. Mrs. Hatcher, 87, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the Parklane Care and Rehab Center in Wentzville. Born April 9, 1921 in Sligo, MO, she was the daughter of Albert and Daisy Mae Anderson Litty. She was united in marriage on December 11, 1939 in Steeleville, MO, to William Raymond Hatcher. This union was blessed with three children: Mary, Jeannie and Ruthie. She worked several years as a baker for TWA Airlines. Mrs. Hatcher was a member of the Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Daisy Litty; two brothers: Floyd Litty and Jake Litty; two sisters: Genny Moody and Millie Carr; one daughter, Mary Sue Ellis who died in 1982; and her beloved husband of 58 years, William Hatcher. Survivors include two daughters: Jeannie Martin and her husband, Ernie, of Foristell, MO, and Ruthie Miller of O'Fallon, MO; eight grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren and five great, great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
