Obituary of Beverly Meredith Johnson

Funeral services for Beverly Meredith Johnson of Osage Beach, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Jerry Markel, pastor of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Waterloo, IA will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Dieter, Jacob Parker, Hank Hargis, Leon Moore, Eldon Hargis and Dan Zwicky. Mrs. Johnson, 71, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. Born April 17, 1937 in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of Melvin and Bertha Strand Hansen. She was a 1955 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. She was united in marriage on June 28, 1969 in Anoka, MN to Calvin Kenneth T. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson owned and operated White Barn Ceramics in Old Monroe, MO before retiring in 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Bertha Hansen. Survivors include her beloved husband of 38 years, Calvin Johnson of Osage Beach; three daughters: Lorrie "Shadow" Emery and her special friend, Steven Neitzel, of Douglass, KS, Linda "Hauna" Hargis of Troy, MO and Louise "Phoo" Tannehill and her husband "William" of Troy; eight grandchildren: Jason Dieter and his wife, Aubry, of Augusta, KS, Jeremy Dieter and his wife, Michelle, of Edgewood, MD, Ravienne Parker and her husband, Jacob, of Wichita, KS, Stephanie Cokely and her husband, David, of Wichita, Hank Hargis of Madison, MO, Amanda Hargis of Macon, MO, Katie Tannehill of Troy, and Nathan Tannehill of Troy; nine great-grandchildren: Jacob, Patrick, Toriana, Twylight, Kyla, Justin, Alacea, David, Jr., and Brydon. She also leaves four former son-in-laws: Eldon Hargis, Michael Dieter, Maxwell Bryant and Dennis Emery; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
