Obituary of Jennie V. Masters

Jennie V. Masters Funeral services for Jennie V. Masters of Winfield, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of the Winfield Baptist Church will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Finney, Danny DeLong, Larry Long, Mike Burner, Mike Winters, Drew Prater and Robert W. Dees. Mrs. Masters, 79, passed away Friday afternoon, May 23, 2008 at her home in Winfield. Born August 19, 1928 in Matthews, MO, she was the daughter of Willis and Flora Striebe Lott. She was united in marriage on October 9, 1948 in Piggott, AR to Doyle Wayman Masters. This union was blessed with one daughter, Jean Sue. The Masters lived in Ferguson, MO for 25 years before moving to the Winfield area to be near their daughter. Mrs. Masters was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Flora Lott; two brothers, George Lott and Bud Lott; three sisters: Ethel Hicks, Pearline Hall and a sister who died in infancy. Survivors include her beloved husband of almost 60 years, Doyle Masters of Winfield; their daughter, Jean Sue Masters and her fianc�, Frank Finney, of Winfield; two grandchildren: Robert W. Dees and his wife, Tina, of O'Fallon, MO, and Michelle Prater and her husband, Drew, of St. Peters, MO; and two great-grandchildren: Samuel Doyle Dees and Josephine Lucille Dees. She also leaves one sister, Grace Barnam of St. Charles, MO; one sister-in-law, Anna Lott of Fair Dealing, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
