Obituary of Evelyn Belle Callaway

Funeral Services for Evelyn Belle Callaway of Robertsville, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Charles Kettleson of Alabama, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Lloyd Callaway, Lloyd Haley, Seth Callaway, Bob Kelly, Josh Kelly and Adam Harris. Mrs. Callaway, 91, passed away Sunday evening, June 15, 2014 at the Cedarcrest Manor in Washington, MO. Born October 8, 1922 in Hannibal, MO, she was the daughter of James E. and Beulah B. Capps Mundell. Evelyn was united in marriage on January 13, 1946 in Elsberry to William Tillman Callaway. This union was blessed with three children: David, Lloyd and Cheryl. She worked as a private caregiver. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Beulah Mundell; her twin brother, Jim Mundell in 1994; one sister, Bernice Emerick; and her beloved husband of nearly 56 years, Tillman Callaway, who died January 5, 2002. Survivors include two sons: David Callaway of Robertsville and Lloyd Callaway of Estacada, OR; one daughter, Cheryl Haley and her husband, Lloyd of Robertsville; and three grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Blanche Scott of Pittsfield, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
