Obituary of Norna J. Meyer

Funeral services for Norna J. Meyer of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Allen Calkins, pastor of Star Hope Baptist Church, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Bauer, Bob Gladney, Raymond Momphard, Billy Collins, Eugene Wall and Freddie Burger. Mrs. Meyer, 88, died Monday morning, March 17, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born May10, 1919 in Lincoln County, MO, she was the daughter of Allie and Laura LaRue Jameson. She was a graduate of Troy High School and later attended Sanford Brown Business College. She was united in marriage on January 12, 1940 in St. Charles, MO to Hadley Howard Meyer, Sr. This union was blessed with one son, Hadley Meyer, Jr. She worked during World War II for the Draft Board/Selective Service. She was a member of the Star Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Laura Jameson; and her beloved husband of 43 years, Hadley Meyer, Sr. who died April 24, 1984. Survivors include one son, Hadley Meyer, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, of Nixa, MO; and one grandson, Matt Meyer and his wife, Gina, of St. Peters, MO. She also leaves two sisters: Myra Dearinger of Troy, MO, and Jean Bauer and her husband, Greg, of Lake St. Louis; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
