Obituary of Kenneth D. Bueneman

Funeral services for Kenneth Delbert "Pesty" Bueneman of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 21, 2008 at the First Christian Church in Elsberry. Rev. Tom Schofield, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David Livorsi, Greg Livorsi, Michael Livorsi, Steve Dillon, Kenny Dillon, Doug Dillon, Tom Bueneman, Jerry Bueneman, Charles Bueneman, Dennis Bueneman, Benny Joe Bueneman, Paul Downey, Robert Zumwalt and Richard Bunke. Honorary Pallbearers will be Manford Hammond, Robert Weeks, Raymond Momphard, Sonny Taylor, Keith Dameron, Gil Dameron and Owen Dameron. Mr. Bueneman, 75, passed away early Friday morning, January 18, 2008 at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Born June 7, 1932 in Troy, MO, he was the son of Julius and Garnetta Brower Bueneman. He graduated from Buchanan High School in 1950. He served his country during the Korean War from 1952 until being honorably discharged in 1954. He was united in marriage on October 8, 1955 in Elsberry to Leanna Alberta Bunke. He worked for many years at McDonnell-Douglas as an expediter, retiring in December of 1995. Kenneth was an active member of the Elsberry First Christian Church. He was also a member of the New Hope Lodge #199, AF&AM, and the American Legion Post #226 in Elsberry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Garnetta Bueneman; and two brothers-in-law: Al Bunke and Avery Magruder. Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Leanna Bueneman of Elsberry; one brother, Don Bueneman and his wife, Dollie, of Troy, MO; and two sisters: Peachy Dillon and her husband, Harry, of Eolia, MO, and Gloria Wermuth and her husband, Bob, of Creve Coeur, MO. He also leaves one special uncle, Marvin Bueneman and his wife, Mildred, of Troy; one brother-in-law, Ron Bunke and his wife, Ann, of Lakeland, FL; three sisters-in-law: Shirley Zumwalt of Columbia, MO, Bobbye Herzberg and her husband, Nolan, of Elsberry, and Louise Magruder of Lake Forrest, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
