Obituary of Elizabeth I. Petry

Funeral Services for Elizabeth Irene Petry of Winfield, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO. Rev. Richard Turnbull of Winfield will officiate. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2008 in Carlyle Cemetery in Carlyle, IL. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Ratliff, Elijah Hoelting, David Petry, Jr., Dustin Petry, Jeremiah Hemmer, Zachariah Hemmer and Isaiah Hemmer. Mrs. Petry, 73, died early Friday morning, January 4, 2008 at her home in Winfield. Born February 2, 1934 in Minerva, KY, she was the daughter of Walter Francis and Mary Norton Boone, Sr. She was united in marriage on December 3, 1951 in Maysville, KY to Clarence John Petry. This union was blessed with four children children: Cynthia, David, Karen and Paula. Mrs. Petry was a housewife and worked around Lincoln County doing housecleaning. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Boone; four brothers: Raymond Boone, Sam Boone, Cecil Boone and Walter Francis Boone, Jr.; and one sister, Elsie Mae Cooper. Survivors include her beloved husband of 56 years, Clarence Petry of Winfield; one son, David Petry, Sr. of Winfield; three daughters: Cynthia Petry of Kahoka, MO, Karen Hoelting of Foley, MO, and Paula Hemmer and her husband, Tony, also of Winfield; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Margaret Marie Cooper and her husband, Russ, of Vanceburg, KY; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO.
