Obituary of Margie F. Moreland

Margie Frances Moreland Funeral services for Margie Frances Moreland of Winfield, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Richard Turnbull of Winfield will officiate with burial in Asbury Cemetery near Foley, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Moreland, Michael Moreland, Quentin Turnbull, Jason Turnbull, Scott Turnbull, Albert Newkirk and Joe Hight. Mrs. Moreland, 85, passed away Sunday evening, December 30, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born February 20, 1922 in Maries County, MO, she was the daughter of Charles and Amy Ray Waldron. She was united in marriage on November 17, 1941 in Vichy, MO to James Edward Moreland. This union was blessed with two children: Brenda and Ed. Mrs. Moreland was a member of the Foley Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and an Avon representative for 13 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Amy Waldron; two sisters: Jean Heaton and Betty Sayers; one half-brother, Charles "Mac" Waldron; two half-sisters: Bessie Waldron and Pansy Waldron; and her beloved husband of 50 years, James Moreland who died on October 5, 1992. Survivors include one son, Ed Moreland and his wife, Terri, of Winfield; one daughter, Brenda Newkirk and her husband, Frank, of Winfield; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Jessie Glynn of Cape Fair, MO; two sisters-in-law: Viola Parrish of St. James, MO and Eileen Bock of Vichy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
