Obituary of Paul Davis

Funeral services for Paul Davis of Elsberry, MO were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Paul Garven, pastor of the Elsberry United Methodist Church, officiated with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Mr. Davis, 71, died Saturday morning, December 22, 2007 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born October 1, 1936 in Robersonville, NC, he was the son of William James and Nola Orr Davis. He was united in marriage on December 22, 1956 in Richmond, IN to Mary Catherine Jones. This union was blesses with three children: Randy, Scott and Tammy. He worked for many years as a truck driver for local delivery. He belonged to the Laborers Local in Richmond, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nola Davis; two brothers: Jim Davis and Howard Davis; two sisters: Mae Goodwin and Pearl Sparks; his beloved wife of 42 years, Mary Davis who died on November 15, 1998; and one son, Paul Randall "Randy" Davis on March 4, 2004. Survivors include one son, Scott Davis and his wife, Robin, of Winfield, MO; one daughter, Tammy Koch and her husband, John, of Elsberry; and five grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Harold Davis of Franklin, TN; and one sister, Lovella Orr of Tennessee; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
